Dr. Matt Lauzon was raised in Alberta and trained at both the University of Calgary and the University of Alberta. He graduated with first-class honours in Environmental Science and worked both overseas and also in consulting before completing his medical degree at the University of Calgary. His Internal Medicine residency training was completed at the University of Calgary and he then moved to Edmonton for sub-specialty training in Occupational Medicine. He is recognized as a Specialist Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in both Internal Medicine and Occupational Medicine.
During training and since graduating he has acquired experience in a variety of settings and areas including engineering consulting, oil and gas, hospitals, clinics, occupational hygiene, audiology, ergonomics, construction, and rehabilitation centers. Familiar with both industry and government processes, he brings insight from varying perspectives. He consults in a variety of Occupational Medicine settings and works in the department of General Internal Medicine at the new South Health Campus hospital in Calgary. When not working, he enjoys spending time in the great outdoors with his wonderful family.
